Fenerbahçe Opet Women’s Basketball Team became the champions of the 2026 Halkbank Women’s Turkish Cup, which was hosted in Denizli.
Defeating Galatasaray Çağdaş Faktoring 86–66 in the final with a 20-point margin, the Queens of the Court won this trophy for the 15th time and lifted their second cup of the season following the Presidential Cup.
MVP: Emma Meesseman
Scoring 17 points to become the game’s top scorer, Emma Meesseman was also named the MVP of the final. Her award was presented by TBF Board Member Dr. Gülşah Akkaya. Iliana Rupert contributed 16 points, Kayla McBride added 15, and Teaira McCovan chipped in with 11 points, all playing key roles in the championship victory.
Fenerbahçe: The Most Successful Team in Turkish Cup History
First held in the 1992–93 season, the Women’s Turkish Cup has now seen Fenerbahçe Opet claim a total of 15 championships, making them the most successful team in the competition’s history.
An Undefeated Season So Far
The Queens of the Court have won all of their official matches this season. Fenerbahçe Opet is 13-for-13 in the league and continues their EuroLeague campaign with an 8-for-8 record.
On their road to the final, Fenerbahçe Opet defeated Nesibe Aydın 109–56 in the quarterfinals and Çimsa ÇBK Mersin 84–66 in the semifinals.
Game Summary
Starting the game with an aggressive defense and the lineup of Sevgi Uzun, Kayla McBride, Iliana Rupert, Olcay Çakır Turgut, and Emma Meesseman, Fenerbahçe Opet found early rhythm through Meesseman and Rupert, taking an 8–2 lead. The first quarter ended 21–16 in favor of Fenerbahçe.
In the second quarter, the Queens extended the lead to 32–23, forcing a timeout from their opponents. They increased the margin to double digits and went into halftime ahead 47–35.
Fenerbahçe Opet opened the second half with a 6–0 run and led 56–44 midway through the third quarter. The final quarter began with a 5–0 run by Allemand and Rupert, stretching the lead to 68–55. Fast-break points from Allemand and Meesseman pushed the margin to 19 points (76–57). Fenerbahçe Opet comfortably closed out the game and won 86–66 to lift the trophy.
